I am a speech pathologist, lecturer and research fellow. I currently work in the Discipline of Speech Pathology and the Childhood Autism and Parenting Team (CAPT), School of Psychology and Public Health. I teach into a range of speech pathology subjects with a focus on child language and autism.

I am an accomplished researcher capable of collaborative working within multidisciplinary teams to evaluate evidence-based approaches to supporting autistic children and families. I have also worked on a range of research projects that have enabled me to develop the theoretical, content and practical expertise in the study of autism and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. This experience has fostered my expertise in methodological approaches, especially qualitative participatory research approaches with CALD communities. I have gone to great lengths to develop an innovative research agenda that clearly aligns with research priorities of autism and autistic communities; this includes research that supports autistic children to achieve their goals, involving participants from diverse/marginalised backgrounds in autism studies and ensuring research has a meaningful impact for all autistic individuals and their families.

I continue to work clinically as a speech pathologist in a public health setting alongside my teaching and research. This clinical contact with families safeguards that my teaching and research priorities can be regularly updated to reflect community priorities in order to maximise impact for health and wellbeing for autistic children and families.
