BIO
I am a Lecturer in the Department of Public Health at La Trobe University, with over a decade of experience in teaching, curriculum design, and research. My teaching expertise focuses on health promotion, public health research, and understanding the determinants of health, with a particular interest in translating evidence into practical learning experiences for students. I am committed to creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to public health practice.
My teaching approach is student-centered and grounded in constructivist principles, encouraging active participation, critical thinking, and the application of theory to real-world contexts. I integrate contemporary issues into my teaching, including the responsible and ethical use of AI, to ensure students are prepared for emerging challenges in health research and practice.
In addition to teaching, I conduct research that both informs my educational practice and contributes to the broader field of public health. In 2021, I was part of a team awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Award in recognition of innovative work supporting student learning, reflecting my commitment to educational excellence and collaboration.
