BIO

Laura is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Rural Health, where she works on projects aimed at reducing health disparities between rural and metropolitan populations. Her work includes co-designing peer support interventions for rare cancer patients and evaluating community paramedicine programs. With a decade of experience in Psychology and Mental Health research, Laura excels in co-design and participatory research methods. She is passionate about involving patients and the public in all stages of research, from design to dissemination.

In addition to her research, Laura coordinates projects for The Mental Elf, where she strives to bridge the gap between research and practice. She achieves this by live tweeting events, blogging about recent studies, and podcasting, ensuring that the latest and most rigorous mental health research reaches those who need it most. Laura is committed to integrating lived experience into the research process and excels in qualitative research methodologies.
