BIO

Dr Mwila Kabwe holds Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences, a Master of Science in Medical Microbiology, and a PhD in Microbiology. His doctoral research focused on leveraging bacteriophages to manipulate the cancer microbiome. Mwila's expertise spans various fields, including bioinformatics, cell biology, data analytics, and virology. He has contributed to impactful studies on infectious diseases and COVID-19 management. Mwila is a member of the esteemed Australian Society of Microbiology (MASM), has received awards for his work.

Some of his current research interests include:
a) The use of bacteriophages as adjuncts in periodontitis and cancer
b) Interaction of microorganisms in complex polymicrobial biofilms
c) Genomic applications in the elucidation of microbial ecology in various disease states
