BIO

I am a current doctoral student with my thesis titled: "Exploration of the Damya Formation and Its Environmental Effects on Terminal Pleistocene Natufian Archaeological Sites in the Northern Jordan Valley", through which I'm analyzing the materials deposited by the Damya Lake (~16-15 kya) in order to understand its potential effects on nearby archaeological sites in Jordan.

I have previously obtained my MPhil in Archaeology (Archaeological Sciences Track) from the University of Cambridge where I focused on the Exploration of late Neolithic lithic provenance by morphology in Skorba, Malta with material from the Fragility and Sustainability in the restricted island environments of Malta (FRAGSUS) project. I also received Interdisciplinary Honors in Geosciences and Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies from the Schreyer Honors College at the Pennsylvania State University with my honors thesis on Developing Techniques to Provenance Jaspers from Central Pennsylvania, as well as a BS in Geosciences, BAs in Anthropology and Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies, minors in International Studies, Jewish Studies, and History, also at The Pennsylvania State University.

I have extensive interdisciplinary training in archaeological and geological field work, research, analysis, and instrumentation; history, classics, and anthropology, the use of SEM, EDS, pXRF and XRD instrumentation and light optical microscopy of petrological thin sections. I have also gone on to research projects involving the Micromorphology of Monolith 17 Slides from Roman Aldborough, England, in conjunction with the Aldborough Roman Town Project and the use of remote sensing capabilities to analyze landscape changes and identify potential archaeological sites and features in the Indus Valley in conjunction with the TwoRains Project.

I have also volunteered on a number of Australian archaeological and heritage projects such as the Wil-im-mee Moor-ring (Mt William) quarry site, and the Government Reserve Archaeology Project (GRASP) and Hahndorf Academy Archaeological Projects (HAAP) where I served as a trench and finds supervisor to over 30 students and members of the public, and attended the ASCSA Wiener Lab Field School on Site formation, Stratigraphy, and Geoarchaeology under Dr. Takis Karkanas and Professor Paul Goldberg based in the Athenian Agora in 2022.

I've also volunteered for two seasons of archaeological fieldwork with the Tel Akko, Total Archaeology Project where I served as an assistant to the area and square supervisors and an independent research member, and completed geological field work on developing field techniques and assembling an integrated understanding of the origin and evolution of the Northern Apennines mountain range with the Geological Observatory at Coldigioco, Italy and the Pennsylvania State University, and with the Pennsylvania State University’s field camp during which I developed my knowledge of and ability for the use of geophysical, metamorphic, sedimentological, and stratigraphic field techniques, as well as remote sensing systems, while assembling an integrated understanding of the geological evolution of the Western United States.

In addition, I am the creator and founder of ReadSTEMM™, an initiative dedicated to providing researchers and scientists with the tools, confidence, and understanding necessary to communicate their own work in interesting and engaging ways to a wide variety of audiences.
