Nicholas is a Chartered Accountant and award‑winning academic in accounting and finance at La Trobe University, with 20 years of experience in higher education. His teaching draws on a strong professional background in financial accounting, financial services, and cost accounting within the trade‑exchange industry.

Before joining La Trobe University, Nicholas held academic roles at Macquarie University and Curtin University, contributing to curriculum development and student learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
