Phil Maude is Professor of Rural Health (Mental Health). He is the Deputy Chair for the La Trobe Human Ethics Committee and chairs the university's Equity, Diversity and Integrity LGBTQI+ Advisory Committee. Phil's background is in mental health and addictions, He has worked clinically in acute wards, community centres outreach programs and in leadership roles in health care services. He also have a background in postgraduate course development and leadership roles in the University sector. His. research interests are in topics that translate to practice change such as addictions interventions, suicide prevention and health care service development. Phil has graduated 26 PhD students and many Masters and Honours students. Phil also writes fiction, commentary and is an experienced public speaker.
