Rumpa Dasgupta is a Lecturer in Cybersecurity in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT) at La Trobe University. Before joining La Trobe, she was a Lecturer in Cybersecurity and Networking at the University of South Australia (UniSA). She also worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Cyber Security Research at Deakin University, a Sessional Academic in the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) at Monash University, and a Casual Lecturer in Cybersecurity at La Trobe University.

Rumpa received her PhD from the Department of Software Systems and Cybersecurity at Monash University, Australia, in 2024. Her thesis topic was "Cyber attacks and countermeasures in transactive energy market-based microgrid systems". She completed her Master of Science (Research) in Computer Engineering from the University of Ulsan, South Korea, and her Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). She worked as a research assistant in the Advanced Mobile Networks and Intelligent Systems Lab (AMNIS), South Korea, from March 2015 to February 2017.

Her research primarily focuses on the cybersecurity of cyber-physical systems, human-centric cybersecurity, smart grid security, the security of the Internet of Energy, and software and network security. Her academic work has been published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and conferences in her research field. She is a member of professional communities and associations such as IEEE and the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN). She has served as a panel member at many conferences and as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and Applied Energy.

She conducts a number of IT and cybersecurity courses, such as Cybersecurity Governance, Introduction to Cybersecurity, IT Forensics, Secure Programming, Software Security, Introduction to Computer Systems, Networks and Security, and Computer Networks. She is keen to collaborate on teaching, research, and industry projects that align with her interests.
