Dr Tze Cin Owyong received his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2023 and is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Hong laboratory in La Trobe University.

Tze Cin Owyong is a specialist in chemical probes for biomolecule chemistry and cell biology, with a multidisciplinary skill set spanning organic synthesis, X-ray crystallography, computational modeling, photophysical characterization, assay development, and mass spectrometry-based proteomics.

The research work Tze Cin Owyong has done or collaborated on has resulted in 22 peer-reviewed publications, including six first or co-first author papers in high-impact journals such as Nature Methods (IF 36.1, ranked 2/448 in category of biochemistry), Angewandte Chemie (IF 16.1, a top chemistry journal), and Chemical Communications (IF 4.3). The work has contributed to successful grant funding, including an AEA Ignite grant, and resulted in two provisional patents as a key inventor, attracting interest from industry leaders.
