BIO

Dr Patel is an Associate Professor of Structural Engineering in the School of Computing, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences. He obtained his PhD degree in Structural Engineering from Victoria University in 2013 and a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology in 2008.

Dr Patel's research interests focus on steel-concrete composite structures, steel structures, structural concrete, and AI in structural engineering. He has published over 80 journal articles and two books. In addition, he is the co-author of the research books entitled Nonlinear Analysis of Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Columns (2015, Scholar’s Press) and Concrete-Filled Stainless Steel Tubular Columns (2018, CRC Press).
