TEACHING INTERESTS
My teaching and educational experience focuses on supporting the aged care workforce and improving care for people living with dementia. Previously, I assisted in developing educational content for the EQUIP Aged Care Learning program and the Dementia Respite Education and Mentoring (DREAM) Project through the University of Tasmania, initiatives aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of aged care workers and those supporting people living with dementia.
I have also contributed to public education through hosting podcasts for the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre, which focused on increasing community awareness and understanding of dementia, including behavioural management and preventative strategies. In addition, I have volunteered with migrant support agencies in Tasmania and the Australian Red Cross, where I hosted numerous health education sessions and workshops related to medication management and chronic disease prevention and management, including diabetes, hypertension, and other cardiometabolic disorders. These sessions particularly supported Nepali-speaking and Bhutanese refugee communities in Hobart, Tasmania, by improving health literacy and access to culturally appropriate health information.
Currently, I teach undergraduate nursing students and Master of Nursing Practice students at La Trobe University, with a focus on fostering evidence-based, compassionate, and person-centred nursing practice across diverse healthcare settings.
